The ledges are wider than the rings, which creates the points of leverage along the pole. The default configurations are what we've found works best for most people, but you can move them to wherever feels right. More ledges on the pole means more points of leverage.

If you want to fit the spaces to your hand size exactly, rings and ledges are each 12mm tall.

If you change your mind after your poles arrive, the rings and ledges slide off and reposition by hand, so no stress!
